Toronto-based TunnelBear has launched its RememBear password manager after six months in beta.
During the beta, nearly 150,000 users joined the program, though the team said the product has been in development over the past two years.
“Now more than ever, internet users need powerful privacy and security tools that are simple enough for anyone to use, While password managers have existed for more than a decade, even optimistic estimates say that less than 3 pecent of connected users regularly use a password manager to secure their logins,” TunnelBear said in a press statement. “We designed RememBear with the same simplicity and approachability we used to build TunnelBear. We believe we can reach the other 97 percent of users who don’t already use password managers today.”
This is the company’s first product since it was acquired by McAfee in March 2018. However, TunnelBear said that’s operating independently with the same team.
