Today in SaaS: Lexop partners with Centris, BroadbandTV collaborates with PBS

Lexop

Over the past several weeks, two Canadian SaaS startups have made announcements on the growth of their companies, launching new features and partnerships. Here’s the latest on these company updates.

Lexop partners with Centris to improve communication between realtors and their clients

Montreal-based email communication platform Lexop has announced a partnership with Centris, which offers collaboration and productivity tools to real estate brokers.

Lexop has developed a certified email solution that automates the way legal, real estate, and account collection professionals send messages, notices, and documents. Specifically, Centris will leverage Lexop’s email technology—which provides legally valid proof of delivery and live tracking of recipient interactions—to help real estate brokers send notices and documents to their clients. The technology will be integrated into Centris’ Simple Avis solution, which is expected to launch soon.

Lexop said the partnership will allow the two companies to expand their relationship with other North American organizations that offer services to real estate brokers.

“It’s a perfect logical fit for Lexop and Centris to innovate together,” said Amir Tajkarimi, CEO of Lexop. “Centris offers an outstanding suite of applications for realtors and with Lexop’s unique Certified Email technology, these applications will become even more powerful.”

BroadbandTV collaborates with PBS, PBS Distribution

Vancouver-based BroadbandTV, a media and technology company that represents YouTube talent through a global multi-platform network (MPN), has announced a collaboration with PBS, a US public broadcaster, and PBS Distribution, a public media content distributor.

The collaboration will enable BroadbandTV and PBS to manage fan-uploaded content on YouTube for popular shows such as NOVA, FRONTLINE, Nature, and various PBS KIDS series. BroadbandTV said PBS is joining several other media and entertainment companies that use the company’s content management services including NBA, Viacom, Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers, and others.

“We’re helping PBS control their premium IP across digital, opening up new opportunities, and further connecting them to their digital fans,” said Lewis Ball, vice president of interactive, ecommerce, and professional services at BroadbandTV.

BroadbandTV’s professional services team leverages the company’s VISO NOVI tool, which detects, tracks, and measures fan activity associated with the premium content and allows rights owners to control their intellectual property.

In September 2016, BroadbandTV launched VISO Catalyst for Chrome to offer optimization tools to content creators, and in January 2017, the company announcd its expansion into eight new countries. Earlier this year, BroadbandTV also launched a business division dedicated to building original games and apps with digital content creators.

“The entertainment industry is facing a lot of challenges – not the least of which is protecting our IP,” said Andrea Downing, co-president of PBS Distribution. “We need a suite of tools to be successful, and BroadbandTV will be a powerful ally in managing our content on YouTube.”
