Carleton University will be hosting Startup Weekend Ottawa, an entrepreneurial initiative to help students develop a real company with the support of experts from the industry.
The students will transform an idea into a startup pitch for a panel of judges in just 54 hours. The event, which is taking place from November 10 to November 12, is being supported by Google for Entrepreneurs.
Carleton’s Hatch program, an incubator program for student entrepreneurs, and Techstars have worked together to organize the event. Frank O’Dea, founder of Second Cup and an Officer of the Order of Canada, will be the keynote speaker on the final day.
