Real Ventures announced today that Sid Kosaraju has joined as the firm’s entrepreneur in residence in New York City.
Joining from Accenture as the company’s managing director of health management services, Kosaraju was previously at PlanetRx, and is the co-founder of 24/7 Customer. Kosaraju was also an advisor to MedPlexus, acquired by GE Healthcare in 2010.
“Having participated in startups from inception through going public and exiting, Sid’s experiences in the technology industry, and particular knowledge of the healthtech sector which is experiencing massive transformation, will be a great asset to our portfolio companies, especially those disrupting traditional industries,” said Real Ventures founding partner, JS Cournoyer, in a statement to BetaKit. “We are excited to welcome him to the team to share his vision and expertise.”
Cournoyer said that the addition of Kosaraju will give Real Ventures presence in New York, sourcing potential investments in addition to working with the firm’s current portfolio.
“Anything that I can bring in terms of guidance, feedback, support, or acting as a sounding board for the companies, I’ll be happy to do,” Kosaraju said. “As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that many times one learns more through the failures than the successes. I can share my experiences: the forks in the road, the decisions that were taken that had good outcomes, and the ones that didn’t.”
Kosaraju is the second entrepreneur in residence adopted by Real Ventures in the last month, with former VarageSale CEO Andrew Sider joining the team in June.
