Propel ICT, a Halifax-based startup accelerator, announced the startups that have been accepted into its latest cohort for 2016.
The 38 startups are based across all four Atlantic provinces, with mentoring sessions being held at Launchpad P.E.I. in Charlottetown. According to a blog post on Propel ICT’s website, 162 companies applied for the program while 56 were invited to the selection camp.
Propel is holding the startups in two separate levels of instruction; its Build program, which supports companies that already have a product and are ready to scale, and its Launch program for ventures at the idea stage. Propel ICT also announced that it would be offering its accelerator program twice annually due to an increase in demand.
“The team at Propel jointly with the community partners have done a great job at attracting a record number of applicants,” said Propel CEO Anita Punamiya. “We would like to thank our mentors who have helped the team select the new cohort for the Launch and Build programs by participating in the selection Camps held in the different cities. We look forward to working with the entrepreneurs as they build their ideas into successful businesses.”
