PointClickCare, which provides software solutions for the post-acute care and senior care markets, has acquired Co-Pilot, an analytics solution developed by Consonus Healthcare. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“This acquisition represents both an exciting and timely step forward on our vision.”

The companies have already begun the integration process and PointClickCare plans to offer the new features in the near future. The addition of Co-Pilot’s technology is hoped to provide PointClickCare customers with more capabilities to optimize their performance through data analytics.

“With the senior care market at war with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is strikingly clear that providers’ ability to access and leverage critical insights into their operations is more important than ever,” said Mike Wessinger, CEO of PointClickCare. “This acquisition represents both an exciting and timely step forward on our vision to empower our customers with the rich, actionable insights needed to provide better care for our seniors.”

PointClickCare’s cloud-based software is targeted to the long-term and post-acute care market, covering care delivery management, financial management, and access to important patient information. The company currently works with 21,000 senior care providers in North America.

Based in Mississauga, Ont., PointClickCare opened a developer hub in Toronto last year to support the creation of its SaaS products. The company also has a developer-focused office in Kitchener-Waterloo, and an office in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Co-Pilot provides rehospitalization insights, market share analysis, and enhanced quality measures, all of which will be added to PointClickCare’s analytics products, Performance Insights and Harmony Insights. Consonus Health, the developer of Co-Pilot, provides rehab, pharmacy, data analytics and consulting services in over 300 healthcare facilities.

“The technology alignment between Co-Pilot and PointClickCare makes for a very powerful union,” said Phil Fogg, CEO of Consonus Health. “We are excited to leverage the new capabilities that the integrated analytics solution will offer.”
