PetalMD and iamsick.ca partner to make health care more accessible

Toronto-based iamsick.ca and Quebec City-based PetalMD are entering a strategic partnership with the goal of helping Canadian patients efficiently access health care.

PetalMD, which has created Canada’s largest network of physicians thanks to its scheduling software for clinics and hospitals, is now offering an appointment booking hub meant to improve clinic workflow and patient access. iamsick.ca, which allows users to book appointments with nearby healthcare providers, will allow patients to search and book appointments at any clinic that uses PetalMD’s scheduling technology. This includes same-day appointments, consults with specialists, and regular appointments with a family doctor.

“By combining the strengths of iamsick.ca and PetalMD, we will redefine how patients access healthcare across Canada from both the perspective of the patient and the healthcare provider,” said iamsick.ca president, Dr. Ryan Doherty.

iamsick.ca has recently started offering EMR-integrated patient ebooking and a virtual waiting room, and PetalMD counts the Quebec Medical Association as a supporting partner. PetalMD recently acquired Medago, an app that allows doctors to send prescriptions from their smartphones.

“This partnership aligns well with PetalMD’s vision to improve access to care for all Canadians, leveraging our scheduling and secure messaging technologies that have been used for years by hospitals and clinics,” said PetalMD CEO Patrice Gilbert.
