Ottawa-based Clearwater Clinical has received $2 million in financing from BDC Capital, along with participation from Naavon and Fundfire. Clearwater Clinical designs and manufactures medical-grade devices that enable effective low-cost treatment of common medical conditions, specifically for the endoscopy and audiology markets.
Some of its products are the ClearSCOPE Endoscope Adaptor and the ShoeBOX iPad Audiometer. The funding will will help accelerate sales and marketing of its mHealth solutions.
Jean-Francois Pariseau, Partner, BDC Capital Healthcare Fund, will join as a new member of its Board of Directors, said, “We believe Clearwater represents a great example of the technological transformation that is underway in the delivery of healthcare. The use of mobile and cloud technologies are dramatically reducing the cost of care and access times while improving diagnostic capabilities. We are thrilled to partner with them to help accelerate their growth.”
In addition, Michael Weider, who founded Watchfire and Blaze, has been appointed CEO and Ian Curry also becomes a member of its Board of Directors.
