Communitech‘s Tech Leadership Conference is this Thursday May 29, and the event promises to bring together “world-class thought leaders” with “the best talent in the Waterloo Region tech sector.”
It’s a day dedicated to “re-thinking old assumptions, re-inventing businesses and re-connecting with important contacts.”
The conference will feature a lineup of speakers, breakout sessions and presentations. Author Geoffrey Moore will discuss his latest work, Escape Velocity, about the challenges large enterprises face when they enter a new business line. Kirstine Stewart, Twitter Canada’s managing director, will discuss a new style of leadership for the modern workplace. Scott Bedbury, the creative genius behind the branding of Nike and Starbucks, will explain how to turn great products into iconic brands.
Kevin Newman of CTV News will also host the ‘big conversation’ with several Canadian leaders. Breakout sessions will focus on key issues such as cyber-security, corporate strategy and culture, change leadership and the elusive quest to hold a ‘no-BS meeting’.
Communitech’s Tech Leadership Conference is calling itself “the largest one-day gathering of tech professionals in Waterloo Region. It expects to bring together 600 people from private industry, startups, the investment community, academia and government. This year’s conference also features the Emerging Technologies Pavilion, featuring ten startups providing solutions for medium and large enterprises, the Titan Café for increased networking opportunities and a partnership with Tesla Motors.
