Holdun investment firm launches FinTech accelerator in Montreal

Montreal

Holdun — an investment firm with roots in Montreal — has launched the Holt FinTech accelerator.

Open to 10 companies around the world, the accelerator promises to provide partners, training, mentorship, and investment. Holt will also work with Stradigi AI, a Montreal-based lab that incubates AI companies and builds AI applications. Holdun said it decided to launch the accelerator in Montreal due to its reputation as a leader in AI and high concentration of students.

“Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, it feels very logical to me to honour the entrepreneurial spirit that the family has been cultivating, with a focus on FinTech and AI,” said Brendan Holt Dunn, founder and managing partner for the Holt Fintech Accelerator Program. Holt Dunn is the great, great grandson of Sir Herbert Holt, who built the company that would become Hydro-Québec.

“We want to give back to the community and, thanks to this program, we’ll definitely be able to make a difference in the future for these startups.”
