Elevate Techfest returns in September with expanded impact startup pitch competition, corporate buyer zone

Elevate Toronto

Elevate Toronto has rebranded to Elevate Techfest, and announced its plans for this year’s tech festival in Toronto.

“Our new name reflects our desire to build on that momentum, to disrupt together as a country.”

Last year, Elevate Toronto sold out to over 5,000 looking for a deep-dive on topics like AI, FinTech, and healthtech.

The company changed its name to reflect innovation across Canada, and this year, it expects over 10,000 guests at its three-day event, taking place between September 25 to 27.

The organization says it is expanding its Elevate-R pitch, which last year invited three social enterprise companies to pitch for $20,000. It will also have a March Madness-style pitch competition featuring Canadian scaleups, as well as a corporate buyer zone and one-on-one meetings with investors.

“Last year, we had an ambitious goal of creating a platform that would raise the profile of our country’s innovation ecosystem,” said Razor Suleman, co-founder and CEO of Elevate TechFest. “Our new name reflects our desire to build on that momentum, to disrupt together as a country, and demonstrate to a global audience that Canada is a powerhouse of innovation and technology.”

Last year’s event featured speakers like investor Vinod Khosla, AI pioneers Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, and Uber ATG head Raquel Urtasun.

Early bird tickets are available on Elevate’s website.
