The board of directors at Ecofuel, a cleantech startup accelerator based in Montreal, has just announced Richard Cloutier as president and CEO.
“Since joining EcoFuel, Richard’s experience and expertise in driving innovation initiatives, tech transfer, startup acceleration, international growth, and financing has been invaluable for Ecofuel’s companies,” said Denis Leclerc, president and CEO of Ecotech Quebec and a member of Ecofuel’s board of directors. “A high tech leader and visionary, we are proud to have Richard on board leading Ecofuel to become the go-to accelerator for cleantech companies.”
Cloutier joined Ecofuel as strategic advisor in July, and until recently, acted as the president and CEO of the Centre québécois de valorisation des biotechnologies (CQVB). He has had experience acting as CEO of biotech companies and organizations in the public sector in the past 30 years. He was the founder and CEO of Gelkem, a private biopharmaceutical company involved in drug delivery systems, for almost 10 years.
Ecofuel offers seed financing of up to $100,000 for entrepreneurs in the cleantech sector, with the aim of helping them build globally competitive companies.
