Ecofuel accelerator

Ecofuel, the Montreal-based accelerator focused on clean tech startups, has announced its fall 2015 cohort. In addition to seed funding up to $100,000 and workspace in Montreal, the below startups in the cohort will be the recipients of intensive training workshops, networking sessions, and mentorship.

    Inno-3B
Founded by Martin Brault, David Brault (no relation) and Pierre Boulanger, Inno-3B designs, develops and installs CEPS (Controlled Environment Plant Production System), which is a controlled environment agriculture platform. This closed environment technology is a new production platform that can be adapted to a large variety of plants for food and pharmaceutical applications.

    Island Water Technologies
Founded by Patrick Kiely, Island Water Technologies develops modular, self-powered, and self-monitoring wastewater treatment solutions for domestic and industrial applications. The treatment platform has a low-energy footprint, is easily and is ideally suited for off-grid users including temporary military bases, mining camps, disaster relief and remote communities.

    Mogile Technologies
Founded by Simon Ouellette, Olivier Proulx and Francis De Broux, Mogile Technologies has developed ChargeHub, a mobile and web platform that provides to tens of thousands of EV drivers access to the most comprehensive and accurate EV charging station data in North America and interact with these stations.

    Polystyvert
Founded by Solenne Brouard Gaillot, Polystyvert has developed a new process that enables the recycling of polystyrene by reducing the transport and related costs. This environmentally-friendly method reduces GHG emissions normally produced by the transport of polystyrene. Moreover, the separation method developed by Polystyvert enables polystyrene to be reused up to 400 times.

“We are proud to contribute alongside visionary entrepreneurs to the development of innovations that are true ecological and economic solutions to important environmental challenges and help propel these promising technologies in international markets,” said Andrée-Lise Méthot, Chairperson of the Board of Ecofuel, in a statement to BetaKit.

Ecofuel receives financial and logistical support from Cycle Capital, as well as additional support from Innovacorp and Écotech Quebec and Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
