Curatio ramps up COVID-19 response with app launch in India, two new partnerships

In the last month, Vancouver-based healthtech company Curatio has taken steps to accelerate its response to COVID-19, announcing two new partnerships and making its virtual patient support app available in India.

Curatio’s two new partnerships include a deal with Boston-based digital mental health platform OPTT to expand access to personalized mental health support, as well as an agreement with Toronto healthtech startup Maple and Kitchener-based telehealth company Cloud DX to deliver a new Canada-wide COVID-19 home monitoring program.

With the moves, Curatio aims to reduce the strain on “already overburdened healthcare systems” during the pandemic.

Through these partnerships, and the recent launch of its virtual patient support app in India, Curatio aims to address the needs of patients while reducing the strain on “already overburdened healthcare systems” during the pandemic.

“As hospitals continue to deal with the COVID-19 crisis in India, people who have health conditions now have less access to clinical care and social support,” said Curatio, which decided to roll out its app in the country earlier this month to help address this issue, as India has been hit particularly hard by the coronavirus in recent weeks.

Curatio first launched its Stronger Together app in response to COVID-19 last fall. Available for iOS and Android, the app uses Curatio’s patient social networking platform to deliver peer support, expert coaching, evidence-based health literacy programs, and facilitates daily check-ins for patients and families. It also offers programs designed specifically to support COVID-19 survivors and long-haulers.

According to Curatio, its new partnership with OPTT enables Curatio to help more clients. Through the agreement, the two companies aim to deliver an integrated tech solution to offer patients personalized mental health support at scale through a mobile application. The deal, which was announced in early May, combines Curatio’s privacy-compliant social network platform with OPTT’s behavioural health services.

In April, Curatio also announced a deal with Maple and TSXV-listed Cloud DX to create a COVID-19 home monitoring system. According to Curatio, the collaboration will allow Canadian healthcare organizations “to ‘decant’ COVID-19 patients to their homes” with remote automated monitoring tech, virtual clinical oversight, and disease management support.

Curatio’s healthtech platform is used in 104 countries and available in 20 languages. Last month, Rocket Builders listed Curatio as poised for significant revenue growth this year on the firm’s latest “Ready to Rocket” list of BC companies.
