The Creative Destruction Lab is now accepting applications for its 2016/2017 cohort.
Located at the University of Toronto, The Creative Destruction Lab accepts 36 startups, who work for 36 months to maximize equity-value creation. As the program is more focused on a “milestone-based mentorship” model than a traditional incubator model, startups already associated with other incubators and accelerators can still apply.
In fall 2015, the Lab launched a program that focuses exclusively on machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence ventures, though cohorts in this stream run parallel to the original program coached by G7 Fellows. Ventures admitted in the Lab receive mentorship from the program’s G7 and ML7 mentors, who are all tech entrepreneurs who have scaled successful businesses.
Current Fellows include D-Wave Systems founder Geordie Rose, Globalive founder Tony Lacavera, and Kik founder Ted Livingston. They work closely with founders to set business and technical milestones, and have the potential to receive capital from Fellows for consistently meeting these milestones.
