Calgary-based chata.ai raises $2.5 million to debut assistant for accountants

chat.ai

Calgary-based chata.ai announced that they have received $2.5 million in funding from local investors. The company declined to name the investors.

The cloud-based software service acts as a conversational analytics assistant, allowing users to use natural “human” language to access, search, and analyze business data. Users can connect to an individual’s QuickBooks Online data, type in a query, and get an immediate answer.

“Our goal is to provide a service that will save time, boost productivity, and enable better decision-making for accountants, bookkeepers and, by extension, their customers,” said Kelly Cherniwchan, CEO of chata.ai.

Cherniwchan and his development team have an integration planned with QuickBooks Online and hope to tap into the value of business data.

“We add real value by removing the need to do tedious tasks – like exporting data, fumbling through spreadsheets, doing manual calculations, or learning complex business intelligence tools,” said Cherniwchan.

The company plans to debut their data analytics software at the QuickBooks Connect, a conference being held in Silicon Valley later this week.
