Axionable, a French company specializing in data and artificial intelligence strategies for businesses, has announced the opening of a new lab in Montreal. The lab’s mandate will be to define and implement effective and responsible AI and data strategies for the company’s clients in Europe and North America.

The company plans to recruit about 50 new employees over the next two years, which reflects a growth rate similar to that of its Paris team, since it launched in 2016. The new lab’s operations are focused on applied research and implementing AI initiatives. The announcement was made at the World Summit AI Americas, which was hosted in Montreal this week.
“Opening a facility in Montreal was a natural choice for us,” said Axionable co-founder and CEO, Gwendal Bihan. “The city is now one of the top global centres of AI research. We are eager to work alongside the world’s most renowned researchers and to be part of a booming ecosystem that includes industry leaders as well as promising start-ups.”
Axionable is a data strategy and consultancy firm that offers various services in analysis and AI, with expertise in image and video analysis, natural language processing, and prediction technology. Axionable also offers support services, including needs identification and performance-improving solutions. The firm supports clients across financial services, media, distribution, and industrials.

Axionable has begun conversations with potential partners in the Montreal ecosystem, and is in the process of recruiting necessary talent, searching for experts in automatic learning, deep learning, information technology, and communication.
