Buying concert tickets can be a pain, especially when tickets sell out fast or end up being sold for a much higher price on platforms like StubHub. To help people save time and money when buying tickets, Robin Media, the latest pitch on The Disruptors, has created a platform that acts as a personal concierge for concerts and live events.
Through Robin Media, users can sign up and create a bucket list of all their favourite artists. When tickets are available, Robin Media will provide users with access to tickets quickly and at an affordable price.
Artists also receive valuable data from the platform. When people sign up for a given concert before it’s announced, Robin Media can provide real-time data to artists and event organizations to help them make informed touring decisions about cities, venues, and ticket pricing.
“Our long-term goal is to try to change the live event industry to make it more demand-driven and supply-driven, and to really bridge that gap between artists, event organizers, and the market,” said Adam McIsaac, the founder of Robin Media.
Co-host Bruce Croxon says Robin Media can help close a gap between artists and their fans by connecting them through its platform, but it’s next step is to think about how it will get around sites like Ticketmaster and “scale [it] to be a massive idea.”
