OMsignal-powered Ralph Lauren smart shirts now for sale

Ralph Lauren PoloTech

Last year, clothing maker Ralph Lauren and Montreal wearables startup OMsignal teamed up to outfit ball boys at the U.S. Open with smart shirts to monitor heart rate, breathing, and stress levels. At a preview event today in New York City, Ralph Lauren announced general pricing and availability for its ‘PoloTech’ shirts.

Made in collaboration with OMsignal, the shirt features silver fibres woven directly into its fabric, as well as a sensor-box located near the rib cage. That sensor box can stream the resulting fitness data to a Ralph Lauren mobile app (currently iOS-only).

The shirts will go on sale next week, retailing for $295 USD. Currently, the PoloTech shirts, like OMsignal’s own smart shirts, are only available for men.
