YTV partners with Ladies Learning Code and MakerKids to launch Code Week

To celebrate Code.org’s Hour of Code global initiative, YTV — a major entertainment brand for children — is partnering with Ladies and Girls Learning Code and MakerKids to launch Code Week on YTV.

From December 7 to December 12, a Girls Learning Code mentor will sit with one of YTV’s youngest hosts, Mylie, to design a digital holiday card. The exercise, which is meant to be easily replicated by kids at home, is supposed to make coding more accessible to children. For its part, MakerKids will visit The Zone segment with host Carlos to design a robot that makes snow.

“We are excited to welcome our YTV fans into the world of coding in a fun and interesting way,” said Colin Bohm, executive vice president, Head of Corus Kids.

Children will also be able to follow along with coding lessons online, with quizzes, activities, and blogs about coding.
