We Are Wearables, the Toronto-based wearable tech group launched by BetaKit Senior Editor Tom Emrich, announced yesterday that it has partnered with Best Buy to host Canada’s first pet wearables event Wednesday, June 3rd.

Leading companies in the space, including Fitbark, Binatone, Petcube, WonderWoof, CELO Collar and Petbot will be showcasing their wares at next week’s event, and members of the audience will be able to try out the devices in a special demo area.

“The rate at which the wearables category has grown over this past year has been astounding and we are thrilled to be a part of his growth through the products we offer at Best Buy, and support through our Greek Squad teams,” said Zayn Jaffer, director of emerging businesses for Best Buy Canada. “Pets are a part of people’s families so it’s a natural extension to see the growth and variety of products emerging for animals. From fitness and GPS trackers to poeticism and training collars, Pet Wearables are definitely one of the most exciting emerging categories in our business.”

Panelists this time around include Brad Pattison, TV host from Animal Planet, and Dr. Adam Little, a veterinarian and futurist from marketing company LifeLearn.

Unlike previous events in the series, this We Are Wearables will feature live animals, including a kangaroo, lemur, and fox! You can register to attend the event by visiting We Are Wearables’ Meetup Page. BetaKit is a sponsor, so we hope to see you there.
