Win a spot on a private jet with 500 Startups’ Dave McClure, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian

Startupfest isn’t just looking to host an event featuring tech heavyweight speakers Re/code executive editor Kara Swisher and O’Reilly Media founder Tim O’Reilly — they also want to give one startup a chance to sit on a private jet with them.

Startupfest is launching a contest to give one startup a seat on a private jet flying in from Silicon Valley to Startupfest. Besides O’Reilly and Swisher, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, 500 Startups founder partner Dave McClure, Gobble founder Ooshma Garg, and Reddit CTO Marty Weiner. The startup will board the plane on July 13, as well as a slot to pitch on stage alongside 11 other startups.

Each year, Startupfest attracts thousands of investors, startups, and entrepreneurs for a few days of pitching competitions, and the chance to win a $100,000 investment prize. This year, Startupfest announced that it was launching five premium “fests” targeted to specific communities in attendance.

Applicants for the private jet contest simply have to explain, in 200 words or less, why they deserve to be on the jet. Applications are open until May 22.
