Vidyard opens Vancouver office, announces plans to grow sales team

Kitchener-based Vidyard, which helps marketing and sales teams leverage analytics from video, has opened a new office in Vancouver. The company will work out of a large section of the co-working floor that belongs to Vancouver-based accounting service Bench, which recently designed and took over three floors of the new TELUS Garden building downtown.

While the office currently staffs six team members, Vidyard is hiring for business development representatives and account executives to grow out its Vancouver sales team.

“We’ve built a foundation of awesome people in Vancouver that we’re all excited to work with,” said Michael Litt, CEO of Vidyard. “We wanted to ensure that they had a creative space of their own that afforded them room for future growth and expansion. We’re also actively hiring Vancouver-based business development representatives and mid-market account executives to fill out the new space. I’m very excited that we’ve spanned the nation. Go Canada!”

When Vidyard last raised its $50 million Series C last year, it was focused on building out its video analytics platform beyond traditional marketing users. Since then, it’s launched its ViewedIt Google Chrome extension, as well as an expanded Enterprise version.

The opening of this Vancouver office comes at a time when Vidyard is now entering its next phase of growth: getting customers to adopt Vidyard on a larger scale. Litt said as much when it added Linkedin CMO and SVP of corporate communications, Shannon Stubo, to its board of directors.

“There is this idea that product-market fit is something that you find and then scale, and we certainly have that in some parts of our offering, but we have to continue innovating,” Litt said at the time.
