Venture for Canada partners with world’s largest law firm to further support its Fellows

Venture for Canada announced a two-year cooperative agreement with Dentons, the world’s largest law firm. Fellows of Venture for Canada — which include recent grads recruited to work at leading Canadian startups — will be able to access legal advice from Dentons.

“We are honoured to partner with Dentons to enhance the training and selection of our Fellows,” said Scott Stirrett, Executive Director of Venture for Canada. “This cooperative arrangement enables us to help more startups gain the talent they need to grow, and strengthens our mission to foster entrepreneurship amongst a greater number of new graduates seeking entry into the startup landscape.”

Fellows can receive advice on employment issues and matters related to launching their own businesses. Dentons will also host and sponsor an event series for Venture for Canada, including its Fellow Selection Days, which are the final step in the Fellow selection process when applicants compete in an all-day series of group and individual interviews before more than 60 prominent judges.

“Entrepreneurs are the cornerstone of Canada’s economy,” said Andre Garber, Director, Dentons Canada Startup Program. “We are proud to support Venture for Canada’s work to foster the next generation of Canadian innovators and entrepreneurs.”
