TSX Venture Exchange announces the 2016 TSX Venture 50

TSX Venture Exchange officially announced its 2016 TSX Venture 50, an annual ranking of the top performing companies across five verticals.

The companies were separated between the industries of cleantech and life sciences, diversified industries, mining, oil and gas, and technology. The top 50 are evaluated based on market capitalization growth, share price appreciation, and trading volume. On average, all the companies in the venture 50 list delivered a return of 72 percent in 2015.

“TSX Venture Exchange is a unique incubator of early-stage public companies and an important part of Canada’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said John McCoach, president of the TSX Venture Exchange. “We are proud to once again recognize and celebrate the success of TSX Venture 50 companies, and we wish each of them continued growth and success.”

B.C.-based VANC Pharmaceuticals took the top spot in the clean tech and life sciences sector, while Ontario-based Tribute Pharmaceuticals and Canopy Growth took second and third place respectively.

In the technology sector, US-based Pivot Technology Solutions took the top spot, while B.C.-based TIO Networks Corp. and Alberta-based Quorum Information Technologies took second and third place.
