ALCATEL ONETOUCH Innovation Accelerator

Smartphone manufacturer ALCATEL ONETOUCH has announced the winners of its North American Innovation Accelerator Challenge. Launched earlier this year and based in San Francisco, the innovation mentorship program connects ALCATEL ONETOUCH executives and SMEs with mobile-focused startups.

Among the five companies accepted into the Innovation Accelerator was KnowRoaming, a Toronto-based company that eliminates the need for roaming charges when travelling by attaching a physical sticker to your smartphone’s SIM card.

“Partnering with these five very innovative startups is the next step in our aim of creating valuable partnerships and innovating with developers and start-ups active in creating new hardware, mobile application and connected device solutions through our Innovation Accelerator program,” said John Choi, Director of Product Planning and Innovation Accelerator Mentor. “We continue to be driven as a company by and an entrepreneurial spirit, embracing ‘Open Innovation’ to help drive greater access of smart technology and innovation for a global mass market.”

All five winners will advance in the next phase of the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Innovation Accelerator, receiving access to ALCATEL ONETOUCH’S resources, including R&D, testing, and engineering, in addition to mentorship.
