Toronto Startup WINR Games launches Big Time, the first gaming app that pays users to play

WINR Games, founded by Toronto native Jeremy Zuckerman, aims to change the future of gaming with the launch of the first mobile gaming app that rewards gamers just for playing. As they play, users of Big Time app generate tickets that go towards a weekly draw. The more a user plays, the better chance he or she has of winning at least $1,000 cash. Zuckerman’s vision is to increase this prize pot even more by sharing back a portion of the app’s ad revenue with users, a model he calls “Free-2-Win”.

The company, which is made up of three developers, one 3D artist, and Zuckerman, has reached 20K in downloads since its soft launch in November 2014. According to Zuckerman, the company’s biggest challenge is reaching a critical mass of users, as many gamers believe Big Time’s main value proposition — winning cash, no strings attached — seems “too good to be true.” His primary focus over the next couple of months is to dispel this myth and to convince gamers of his vision for the future of gaming.

Big Time is available for free download on iOS and Android and is made up of 10 games. Zuckerman plan is to one day expand the game offering to over 100.

The Big Time weekly draws are open to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and most of the U.S., as well as all other countries with app distribution from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store who have reached the age of 14.

Zuckerman was a former management consultant at a top firm in Toronto before starting WINR Games in June 2014.
