After months of hype, Startupfest has unveiled exactly what 4,000 people touching down for the event can expect.

Startupfest has been a hit with the startup community over the past five years, attracting startups and investors from around the world. This year, the usual favourites like the Grandmother’s Choice pitch tent and CBC Pitch prize are back, but there are a few changes and new additions this year.

Startupfest’s famed $100,000 Investment Prize is back on July, with a twist: it’s up to the entrepreneur to tell the investor what they will give up in exchange for the money, such as debt or equity. Even if you don’t win the money, there could be something in it for you: founders pitching in the $100K contest are automatically considered for an-all expenses paid trip to Turks and Caicos for StarUp Weekend.

Element AI, which recently raised a historic $137.5 million Series A, will be showcasing the latest in AI and meeting fellow AI companies in the space.

Toronto-based Next Canada is also offering a spot in their upcoming Next 36 cohort.

“The $100,000 prize has always been one of the best parts of the event. We have 10 outstanding angel investors that come together to pick the best startup at the event. We then invest in them,” said Phil Telio founder of Startupfest. “We strive to always create tangible opportunities for the startups, that’s our main goal. By adding Braindates, a CIO tent, and new investors, I am confident we’re packaging up a lot of opportunities. On top of that, the international media attending this year, which is outstanding for visibility.”

The Tent Village also includes tents dedicated to startup hubs across Canada, including Ottawa, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Calgary — and an international one for France. For people looking to make closer connections, Startupfest is hosting Braindates, which lets you book time with participants with e180’s algorithms, which makes matches based on personality and behaviour and interests.

This year’s Startupfest takes place between July 12 to 15. Tickets are still available!
