The Prizes At Next Week’s GROW Hackathon Are Kind of Ridiculous

Next week’s GROW Conference in Whistler is all set to be a great experience revolving around the “connected city,” and Internet of Things (IoT) innovation. And the perks for joining have just made the offering a lot better.

It’s hackathon, called #GrowHack2, will challenge its participants to “make Whistler the smartest, most connected resort destination in the world. The work you do over the two-day hackathon could end up implemented by the City of Whistler to make this resort a global showcase for IoT innovation and cities of the future.”

Over two days, designers, developers, project managers and engineers will collaborate with restaurateurs, civic administrators, hoteliers, retailers, and resort operations.

The prizes were only just recently announced, and they’re over-the-top to say the least. Who doesn’t love winning, asked GROW.

FIRST PLACE – $10,000 cash prize

  • $10,000 in cash, sponsored by TELUS

THIRD PLACE – Let’s celebrate!
