The Next 36 brings on Peter Carrescia as its new managing director

Next 36 has announced Peter Carrescia will be the new managing director of the accelerator program. Carrescia has previously served as managing director at OMERS Ventures, a general partner at VenGrowth Capital Partners and a director at a number of tech-based companies. Carrescia will replace Claudia Hepburn who will be transitioning to the board of directors at the end of this month.

“Peter has a unique perspective on the entrepreneurial landscape in Canada, and his passion for entrepreneurship and track record of venture creation and execution speaks for itself,” said Co-Chair of The Next 36 Reza Satchu. “He is joining our organization at an exciting time of growth and promise, and we are confident that he will lead The Next 36 to the next level.”

The Next 36 started in 2010 and has seen them support Bionym, WhatRunsWhere, Kira Talent, Seamless Mobile Health, 42 and Thalmic Labs. In addition, The Next 36 is currently seeking startups to join its 2015 cohort.
