TD launches digital concierge offering real-time suggestions for local services

TD has announced plans to begin rolling out its new mobile service, TD for Me.

The platform allows customers to stay “in the know” with real-time offers and tips from TD. A statement from TD states that TD for Me is a new feature for the existing TD app that curates content for users including nearby offers, helpful tips, and local events.

TD customers are able to opt-in to this service, and turn off notifications whenever they want. This feature will be powered by the Canadian startup Flybits, a cloud-based intelligence product designed to provide customized mobile experiences to customers.

“TD for Me expands on our ability to be there for customers by creating more intuitive, personalized and relevant experiences that go beyond traditional banking,” said Rizwan Khalfan, Chief Digital and Payments Officer at TD, in a statement.

“By delivering in-the-moment experiences we’re able to humanize the digital interactions and cater more to how customers live their lives through their mobile devices.”

After the app’s release yesterday, Canadian reporters began touting the project as in-app targeted marketing. In particular, Susan Krashinsky, the advertising and marketing reporter for the Globe and Mail, made the following statement.

When users enter a TD for Me zone, they can choose to receive offers based on what services and events are close by. More information about this service can be retrieved at any local TD branch. Furthermore, users can also access specialized offers form TD when they’re travelling abroad.

“TD for Me is another example of how TD is adapting, innovating and collaborating with startups to deliver highly personalized solutions to our customers,” Colleen Johnston, Group Head direct channels, technology, marketing and corporate & public affairs at TD, said in a statement.

“We continue to elevate an already exceptional mobile experience through truly differentiated and unique capabilities, all delivered with the trust customers have come to expect from TD.”

To access these new features Android users need only to update their TD app. An upgrade for iOS will be available in the coming days.
