Startups have until July 31 to apply for the CIX Top 20

CIX in 2016

The CIX Top 20, a program from the Canadian Innovation Exchange that showcases Canada’s most innovative companies, is calling for applications.

The 2017 CIX selection committee will evaluate and select 20 technology companies from across Canada to be featured in a live showcase at CIX 2017, which is taking place from October 17 to October 18 at the Hilton Toronto.

Selected companies will be chosen based on factors like the company’s business model, quality of product and service offering, market opportunity, and depth of engagement.

Selected companies will have the chance to present to an audience of over 800 investors, customers, and partners at CIX 2017. The companies will also have exhibit space in the CIX Top 20 lounge and be able to participate in Mentor Day, which includes free media training, advice on tax, raising capital, government incentives, and other important topics.

CIX said that top 20 companies will also be invited to CIX VIP events attended by investors and corporates. Past CIX Top 20 companies include BlueCat, which recently exited for $400 million; Hubba, and Wattpad.

Interested companies must submit applications by July 31 at 5 p.m. Successful applicants will be notified by August.
