Quebec’s first FinTech hub launches this Wednesday in Montreal

Montreal at night

Thomas Pasturel believes Montreal has everything necessary to be a global FinTech player. The entrepreneur and investor recently took to LinkedIn to pen his reasons why Montreal should not only be following Toronto’s lead but leading in the financial technology space.

In the post, Pasturel argues that Montreal has a set of natural advantages in becoming a FinTech hotspot, including FinTech-focused VC firm M2S Capital, and the annual FinTech Forum event. Pasturel argues that the city is simply missing some connective tissue to tie things together.

Enter Finfusion MTL, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing FinTech in Montreal through support and promotion of the local community.

Finfusion MTL will be hosting its inaugural event this Wednesday, April 22nd. The event will feature a panel on innovation and technology in finance with Eric Lemieux, President of M2S Capital, and Jay Ferst, Managing Partner, Ferst Capital Partners, as the panelists. Those looking for more event details or to RSVP can do so here.
