Over 80 glorious pictures from the #HTML500 Learn-to-Code Event

Vancouver was home to a spectacular event this past weekend. The #HTML500 learn-to-code event hosted 500+ eager coders and was dubbed as “Canada’s Largest Learn-to-Code Event.” This is certainly a step in the right direction as Canada needs more talented coders and Vancouver is shaping up to a hotbed of talent.

The Lighthouse Labs event was jam packed and featured a number of speakers and sponsors — like Hootsuite, Axiom Zen, Vancouver Economic & TELUS — plus 3 hours of “lab time” of head-down coding. We’re still waiting to hear back from Axiom Zen about who they selected to join them for an intense 8-week paid internship. This is expected to happen over the next few weeks, but Axiom Zen stated to us that there are some very promising applicants with backgrounds in design and communications, computer science from UBC, the Sauder School of Business, BCIT, Langara College and even a PHD applicant.

Below is a collection of over 80 pictures from the event, courtesy of photographer Zack Embree.
