Onevest launches 1000 Angels, an invitation-only investor network

Onevest 1000 Angels

Onevest, the New York-based startup investing and equity crowdfunding community, has launched a new initiative in its pledge to democratize early stage investing: 1000 Angels, a digital-first, invitation-only investor network.

Onevest says 1000 Angels will provide a constantly updated selection of exclusive investment opportunities for its members, as well as access to private founder presentations and networking events. Where 1000 will look to stand apart, however, is in the promise to allow members to build portfolios without management fees, carried interest, or large capital commitments, which Onevest co-founder Alejandro Cremades said are the types of frictions that lead to poor performance.

Cremades also told BetaKit that 1000 Angels will be open to Canadian investors, and that Onevest hopes to open chapters in Canadian cities in 2016. “The goal is to have at least 100 members in each one of the chapters,” he said.

1000 Angels membership is open to accredited investors by invitation only, but those looking to get in can apply here.
