Economic development agency Invest Ottawa today announced the launch of its Work in Ottawa campaign.
The international campaign aims to attract global tech talent to the city, which is home to 1,750 tech companies that employ more than 68,500 people, by highlighting its opportunities and quality of life. The city is working to attract new firms from around the world.
“We are very proud to announce our Work in Ottawa campaign which aims to help companies across our thriving ecosystem, attract and retain the top talent needed to succeed,” said Michael Tremblay, President and CEO of Invest Ottawa. “Multinational brands such as Nokia, Huawei, IBM, Mitel, Amazon and Apple are continually expanding their operations in Ottawa, while home-grown companies such as QNX, You.i TV, Ross Video and Shopify will collectively hire thousands of people within the next few years.”
The online hub acts as a talent matchmaking allowing job seekers and local companies to explore new career opportunities, while focusing on Ottawa’s R&D and business advantages, quality of life, and key differentiators.
In March, Ottawa was named the top tech hub in Canada by CBRE’s Research Gateway, noted for its affordable cost of living and gender diversity ratio within its companies.
