GoDaddy Canada announced the winners of its Life Fulfilling Ventures contest, which awards $5,000 in seed money to entrepreneurs building on the GoDaddy platform.

“The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and thriving here in Canada. At GoDaddy, we’re seeing more Canadians going after their dreams and pursuing life fulfilling ventures,” said Jill Schoolenberg, VP of GoDaddy Canada. “We’re thrilled to be able to support local entrepreneurs and provide them with online tools to help build successful businesses.”

The three ventures include Valtin Publishing, started by two best friends that self-published Colours of the Rainbow: A Multicultural Journal; Huddy Buddies, which sells homemade crochet booties for kids; and Thera Paws, an animal massage business.

“Built on our own passion, ValTin Publishing has grown into a publishing house to help encourage others to write about diversity and multiculturalism in Canada,” said Valeria Gonzalez, co-founder of ValTin Publishing. “Tinisha and I were so thrilled about winning the contest; it came at the perfect time with the launch of our second book.”

The contest, launched last year, and also offered access to web development services, and mentorship from GoDaddy professionals.

“Since winning the contest, I have been able to focus more on advertising and marketing, really getting the word out about my business,” said Joshua Fry, founder of Thera Paws. “By using GoDaddy’s new Website Builder I was able to easily create and manage a new website, knowing that their 24/7 customer support is there if I need it.”
