Feel the life of a startup: ‘Startup Open House’ happening in Montreal and Toronto on October 30th

For those interested in feeling the buzz of being involved in a startup can do so on October 30th. The “Startup Open House” is back for the second year and promises those who visit will experience a “bustling startup ecosystem.”

The event, which is 100% community focused and 100% free, is taking place simultaneously in Montreal and Toronto from 4 to 7pm. There will be over 75 startups opening their doors, including Frank & Oak, Beyond The Rack from Montreal, and Shopify, 500px, Hurrier, Wave and Freshbooks in Toronto.

“The Startup Open House event has proven to be a high impact way for startups to gain exposure. With the exponential growth of startup activity in Toronto, it’s important that we take this opportunity to create a broader understanding of our world by opening our doors and new conversations with the public“, said Satish Kanwar, Director of Product at Shopify.

Accoring to the site, the inspiration for creating the event came from a “growing interest for startups and the possibility of working at a startup. So we figured this would be a good way to show them what startups are actually like.”
