The Lazaridis Institute in Waterloo has announced the 10 companies accepted into its second cohort of the ScaleUp program.

The ScaleUp program supports startups that are in the growth stage of their businesses, and includes one-on-one mentorship, weekend sessions which tackle common startup challenges like operations, and preparation for the next round of funding.

“Everything we do is built around the specific companies in the cohort, but the mission remains the same: we want to identify the top scale-up firms in the country and give them access to the resources they need to grow their businesses and create value in Canada,” Kim Morouney, executive director of the Lazaridis Institute, said when the company first opened applications to the cohort.

The latest cohort includes Bus.com, which recently rebranded and raised a $6.5 million Series A, and 7shifts, which recently raised $4.5 million.

The full list includes:

  • 7shifts (Saskatoon)
  • Agendize (Montreal)
  • Bus.com (Montreal)
  • Dream Payments (Toronto)
  • Flytographer (Victoria)
  • Showpass (Calgary)
  • Spring Loaded Technology (Dartmouth)
  • Terramera (Vancouver)
